Celebrate Mother’s Day weekend with a garden tour, indoor and outdoor music concerts, bird watching, prairie walks, shopping and all things spring. Here are a handful of things to do in the Milwaukee area.
Knock Out rose Open Garden event
The first Open Garden event of the season at Rose Innovations is held from 5 to 8 p.m. May 8. Will Radler introduced his first Knock Out rose in 2000, and you are invited to tour his 2-acre Radler Rosarium garden at 10020 W. Meadow Drive in Greenfield. View perennials, shrubs, trees and statuary, and learn about the development of new roses. All Saints Organ Concert
Hear a program of organ masterworks and showpieces performed by Jerrick Cavagnaro at 7:30 p.m. May 8 at All Saints’ Cathedral, 818 E. Juneau Ave. The concert features the cathedral’s Pepper-Graves Memorial Organ with 47 ranks of pipes. The concert is presented by the American Guild of Organists-Milwaukee Chapter. Wildflower walk or hike
Bring mom to two wildflower events at Pringle Nature Center on May 9. The Mom & Me Wildflower Walk starts at 9:15 a.m. and the Ephemeral Wildflower Hike starts at 10:30 a.m. Learn about spring wildflowers with a walk in the woods. World Migratory Bird Day celebration
Observe the birds from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 9 at Schlitz Audubon Nature Center, 1111 E. Brown Deer Road. Bird walks, interactive educational stations and a community art project are part of the event. The celebration will feature some migrating raptors. Admission is $10.schlitzaudubon.org
Cedarburg Mother’s Day weekend
If your mother loves to shop, treat her to a day in historic Cedarburg from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 9 and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 10. The weekend at The Shops of Cedar Creek Settlement, N70 W6340 Bridge Road, features a free gift and chocolate for every mom, live music by Special K (Kevin Kennedy) from noon to 3 p.m. both days, in-shop specials, samples, gifts with purchase, and spring merchandise. Cafe Sopra Mare
Villa Terrace Museum and Gardens, 2220 N. Terrace Ave., opens the 2026 weekly courtyard concert series with jazz by Arron Crook from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. May 10. Listen to Milwaukee musicians while sipping complimentary coffee, or bring your own. The series continues throughout the summer on select Sundays. Free admission to the zoo and Milwaukee museums for Mother's Day
Moms get in free to a handful of Milwaukee-area attractions on Mother's Day, May 10. They include:Old World Wisconsin, W372 S9727 Highway 67 in Eagle, open 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; theMilwaukee Public Museum, 800 W Wells St., where mothers and "mother figures" get in free from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.;Discovery World, 500 N.
