About Our Ads Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement It sounds like Spencer Danielson can be crossed off any candidate lists for this year's college football coaching carousel.
At least that was the takeaway from the Boise State coach's media availability Monday with reporters in Idaho.
"I don't really let myself go there," Danielson said. "... I absolutely feel like God has called me here. That's not mythological. These players, this community, what God is doing here, I'm all chips on the table here."

Danielson mentioned he had someone call him Sunday about an opening to gauge his interest, to which he immediately said, "zero interest."
"That's not coach speech. That's not I got to put on the back-burner because I need to coach. Zero interest outside of coaching this team now and in the future," Danielson said.
There are three Power Four openings entering Week 9. Maryland became the first Power Four program to make a change, parting ways with Mike Locksley on Oct. 21. NC State followed by dismissing Dave Doeren on Saturday after the Wolfpack's loss to Stanford on Friday, while Baylor fired Dave Aranda on Sunday following the Bears' defeat against Kansas this past weekend.
In his four seasons at the helm of Boise State, Danielson has been one of the top coaches at the Group of Six level. He holds a 30-9 overall record with the Broncos, headlined by their 12-2 season in 2024, which featured earning the No. 4 seed in the College Football Playoff with Ashton Jeanty.
Boise State, in its first season in the new Pac-12 at 6-1, hosts Texas State at 10 p.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 31.
"I've had more joy coaching this team than I've had coaching in my entire life," Danielson added. "Not just because of wins and success. But seeing who they are and seeing what God is doing now and in the future, and where I believe we can really build to. I'm so committed to this team and what it is.
"That's not coach speech because I know everyone will say that, and in two months they'll take a new job. I can't be more upfront and honest."
