After winningSurvivor 50, Bracco said she credits her son with helping to shift her perspective on the game.
"I really think being a parent grounds you," she told PEOPLE. "It helps you realize that this is a game … and that you’re going to be Mom when you come home. You can go for broke and you can play the game that you were meant to play to your full potential."
She competed on three seasons ofSurvivorbefore winningSurvivor 50
Bracco appeared on seasons 32, 34 and 38 ofSurvivorbefore returning for 50 — and being crowned winner. She previously lost toMichele Fitzgeraldin a 5-2 final tribal council vote duringSurvivor: Kaôh Rōng— and Fitzgerald's strategy was something she considered while playingSurvivor 50.

Bracco also explained why returning hadn't necessarily been on her "mind."
"I came to peace with the fact that mySurvivorjourney was over on theEdge of Extinction," she said. "I don't care what anyone says, theEdge of Extinctiondays count. From Days 105 to 111, I remember savoring each moment because I didn't think I'd be here again."
